Diana's clients describe her as direct, insightful, and funny.

Diana's therapy style is affirming, empowering, and holistic, often incorporating elements of existentialism, mindfulness techniques, and collaborating with clients in creative ways to achieve their goals.

Diana earned master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and American Culture Studies. She also received specialized training in Death Doula care to serve people facing end of life decisions. Before joining the Willow Center, Diana served clients at a correctional facility providing counseling to individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and substance abuse. Prior to becoming a therapist, Diana taught university courses about American culture focusing on gender, race, income inequality, sexuality, and media. Her education and teaching experience allows her to help clients understand the sociocultural contexts of distress and pain which emerge from our economic, healthcare, education, legal, political systems and much more. Diana believes our behavior – even unhealthy patterns and habits- is understandable within these contexts and that people are capable of change when they develop skills to make choices which align with their values.

Diana’s work is spread across three broad areas of emotional well-being: creativity and joy, existential dread, melancholy and loss, and helping people who’ve experienced developmental trauma. Existential philosophy grounds her work in helping you identify purpose and meaning in your life. Her approach is informed by psychodynamic techniques, liberation psychology, existential philosophy, and neurobiology. Diana’s therapeutic framework includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, among others.
