Alexis “Lexe” Wooten is a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelors degree of Science in Nursing from the University of Arizona, her Masters Degree of Science in Nursing from the University of Toledo, and her Post-Graduate Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health from Purdue University Global. She comes to Willow with 17 years of nursing experience and more than 10 years of Nurse Practitioner experience. She has worked in the hospital, emergency room, primary care, acute and long-term care, and mental health settings ranging from neonatal to geriatric populations. It’s through her variety of experiences that she realized the gap between medical and psychiatric care. This observation motivated her to further her education. She currently manages and treats a wide range of mental health concerns including ADHD, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.
Lexe provides each client with a patient, warm, and understanding environment while performing psychiatric evaluations, and brief psychotherapeutic interventions. She focuses on individual needs, including a client’s personal history, and life experiences. She is laid-back and helpful in creating an individualized treatment plan of care valuing her client’s involvement, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based practice. She is flexible and integrative to meet her client’s desired needs and outcomes. Her main goal is for her clients to feel empowered to treat their illnesses through a supportive environment to maximize their quality of life.
