Melanie has been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. She received her social work master’s from Case Western Reserve University and enjoyed focusing on social justice issues, and individual and group therapeutic modalities during her study. Melanie has a passion for building therapeutic relationships that help individuals reach their highest potential and best self. Utilizing a blended intervention style, Melanie weaves together modalities she is trained and experienced in to provide the best, personalized, unique approach for each person she works with. She is extensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and certified in Cognitive Enhancement Therapy. Melanie has worked primarily with adults in all walks of life and through trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, psychosis, relationship issues and crisis. In particular, she enjoys working with older teens and young adults as they face so many life changes and are possibly experiencing major mental health symptoms/diagnosis for the first time. She is open to working with all populations including those with severe and persistent mental health disorders including mood disorders, trauma disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders and psychotic disorders. Melanie enjoys being an engaged partner, coach, support, and empathic listener through the therapeutic process.
