Rachel earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Bowling Green State University. Prior to joining the Willow Center, she provided individual and group counseling to adults in substance use treatment, through her graduate internship at MidWest Recovery/Ohio Treatment Center. Rachel’s prior experience includes working as a Mental Health Professional in acute crisis through Pediatric Behavioral Medicine at Toledo Children’s Hospital. Her experience also includes working in community mental health, with teenagers and young adults experiencing severe and persistent mental health illness. Rachel’s therapeutic approach is client-centered, and she uses techniques from Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT).
